Aerostat - Dragoon

Bridging the gap between steam and diesel punk

The Idea behind the aerostat is that it is a dragoon, transporting a soldier to the battle.

The canvas texture uses two sets of the wave texture (set to bands) to create a stripe pattern, mapping nodes were then used to set these two strip patterns 90 degrees to each other to create a grid pattern.

The information from this pattern was then used to create the colouring and the displacement on the canvas surface.

The camouflage pattern was created by using a modified version of the marble node setup from 'elbrujodelatribu.blogspot.co.uk'

The balloon itself should probably be bigger to be realistic, it’s not meant to fly particularly high mostly just skim tree tops at most and then land for rapid deployment. To land there is a harpoon anchor mounted next to the gun on the front of the pod, again this would probably be ineffective really and a different system would be needed (in fact for re-work would probably want to remove the gun and harpoon completely).
