Cybelopod

The Cybelopod is an octopus (cephalopod) equipped with a mechanical exoskeleton, not sure if they’ve built these themselves (perhaps an advanced species of Squibbon) or if some human(s) have decided to give cephalopod kind a helping hand.

The soft body was roughed out with box modelling, sub-divided (applied and smoothed) then multires was used to sculpt the details (would probably use dynamic topology if creating now).

The exoskeleton was then modelled just using normal hard body techniques (a mirror modifier was used and then applied) once the exoskeleton was complete, the soft body was posed slightly with a basic armature, and the exoskeleton was then posed to match.
